John 9:1-7 “ How I got my Miracle “

John 9:1–7 (NKJV)

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.

7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

Today our sermonic spotlight

Shines on the 6 of 7 miracles

Recorded in the gospel of John

That speaks to the deity of Jesus Christ

And the salvation that Jesus afford those

Who would accept Him as their Savior and Lord

These 7 miracles

Starts in John chapter 2 ending in John chapter 11

The seven miracles are

1 The turning of Water into Wine John Chapter 2

2 The Healing of A Nobleman’s Son John Chapter 4

3 The Healing of A Lame Man At The Pool John Chapter 5

4 The Feeding of The Multitude of 5000 John Chapter 6

5 The Calming of A Raging Sea John Chapter 6

6 The Healing of A Blind Man John Chapter 9

7 The Raising of Lazarus From the Dead John Chapter 11

These 7 miracles

Speaks to the deity of Jesus Christ

And the salvation that Jesus afford those

who would accept Him

As Savior and Lord

These 7 miracles are very important

The first 3 of the 7 miracles

1st They Speaks to the PROCESS of Salvation

The first 3 miracles speaks of the process of how we get save

We get saved by receiving the word of God

That’s illustrated in John chapter 2

We get saved by having faith in God

That’s illustrate in John chapter 4

We get saved by grace

Which is illustrated in John chapter 5

The first 3 miracles

Illustrates the process of salvation

But the last 4 miracles are significant

Because they speak not to the process of salvation but

2nd They give us the Proceeds of Salvation

That once we are saved

The Proceeds of Salvation is Having Sufficiency

We can expect God to give us His sufficiency

His sufficiency is illustrated with the 2 fish and 5 loaves

In John chapter 6

The Proceeds of Salvation is Having Peace

As illustrated in John chapter 6 verse 16

The calming of the raging sea

After we are saved we can expect God to give us Peace

The Proceeds of Salvation is Having Spirit Sight

Illustrated in our text today

This man who was born blind

The Proceeds of Salvation is Having Life

And once we are saved we can expect God to give

Life forever more

Which is illustrated in John chapter 11

The 7 miracles mention from John chapter 2

To John Chapter 11

Speaks to the deity of Jesus Christ

And the gift of salvation that He affords

Every person who accepts Him as their personal Savior

This 6 miracle is of a man that was born blind

But what’s significant about this narrative

Is in verse number 7

As this man walked away from Jesus

The last three words in verse number 7 says

He “ came back seeing “

John 9:7 (NKJV)

7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

This man left Jesus one way

But he came back another way

That bless me

How this man walks away from Jesus

And as he walked away from Jesus

He is totally blind

But about the time he comes back

He comes back another way

That bless me because what I have discovered is that

The devil does not want to happen in your life

Is for you to come back another way

The devil wants to keep somebody in the state of depression

The devil wants to keep somebody in the state of confusion

The devil wants to keep somebody in the state of hopelessness

The devil wants to keep somebody in the state of it ain’t worth it

The devil wants to keep somebody in the state of brokenness

The devil wants to keep somebody in the current state that you’re in

But somebody today need to be reminded

That The Bible says

The Devil is the father of lies

John 8:44 (CSB)

44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

Somebody needs to make up in their mind today

That you’re coming back another way

That you’re not coming back the same way

That you left

I want to serve you notice

By giving you a subpoena today

To summons you to the house of God

To let you know

That there’s going to be people in your life

That will not be able to handle

The difference of your come back

The reason why people want you the way that you are

And the devil Know

If you ever get your mind back

If you ever get your swag back

If you get your strength back

If you get your faith back

If you get your power back

The enemy knows if you can ever get your joy back

The joy of the Lord will be your strength

Do you realize how much of a threat you will be

Once you come back a different way

Or another way

Here’s the scripture I want you to go to

Mark 5

There’s a story of a man that live in the tombs

He calls himself legion

His name wasn’t Legion he calls himself legion

And in Mark chapter 5

We meet him and

There’s a couple of things that we discover about this man

Mark 5:5 (NKJV)

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.

Mark chapter 5 verse five

Let us know that this man had a pattern every day

The scripture says day and night

Always go up to the mountain

He would leave the mountain and come down to the tombs

And all day every day

He would be crying and cutting

Himself with stones

Mark chapter 5 verse 5 talks about this crazy man

This man he’s living in the tombs

And The Bible says three things about him

All day always he would go up to the mountain

And he would come back down to the tombs

1st He would Climb

2nd He would Cry

3rd He would Cut

He did those things all day every day

All day always

He would Climb, He would Cry, and He would Cut

But one day he met Jesus

While climbing

While Crying

While Cutting

He mets the Christ

His life was no longer the same

Look at this sane man in verse number 15

Mark 5:15 (NKJV)

15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.

When this sane man meets Jesus Christ

The Bible says three things about him

1st He’s now Cured

2nd He’s now Clothed

3rd He’s now Conscious

Mark 5:15

The same man that was

Climbing – Crying – Cutting

Is now

Cured – Clothed – Conscious

But here’s the point

Note the ending of verse number 15

Mark 5:15 (NKJV)

15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.

After he’s Cured

After he’s Clothed

After he’ Conscious

Nobody was afraid of him when he was

Climbing – Crying – Cutting

But as so as this brother is

Cured – Clothed – Conscious

Now they are afraid of him

You see the enemy don’t want you to function right

But you’re coming back another way

This blind man in John chapter 9

He leaves Jesus and he’s blind

But he comes back another way

I wanted to know how could that happen

How I got My Miracle

1st He was STANDING in the WAY of the Lord

John 9:1 (NKJV)

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

Jesus is passing along the way

And I know that don’t seem like much to you

But when you look at the text you will discover

That there’s plenty of people in the Bible

That got bless along the way

There’s a plethora of people in the Bible

That got bless just because they were standing

In the way

This brother is in the right place at the right time

As I read the Bible I discovered

That there was people

That was cured because they was in the way

That was cleansed because they was in the way

That was called because they was in the way

Matthew 20:30

2 Blind Men were CURED because they was in the way

Mark 2:14

Levi was CALLED because he was in the way

Luke 17:11

10 LEPERS were CLEANSED cause they was in the way

There might be somebody here today

That you need something

Cured – Cleansed – Corrected

Make sure that you stand in the way of the Lord

The devil has gotten somebody in here today

Out of the way

But you have to make sure today

That you stay in the way

The Devil has been trying to get you out of church

The Devil has been trying to get you out of your purpose

The Devil’s been trying to get you out of ministry

The devil’s been trying to get you out of your relationship

The Devil has been trying to get you out of things God has put you in

The devil will station people in your life just to get you out of the way

He will station people on your job, in your family, in church and in the same ministry you are in

Let me encourage you today

Let’s always be people

That’s in the way

The followers of Jesus Christ

Was not always call Christians

They was not call Christians

Until Acts chapter 11 verse 26

When they was first called Christians at Antioch

But before they was called Christians

They was called people of the way

Acts 9:2 (NKJV)

2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

And because of these people

Being called people of the way

In Acts chapter 11

They change from people in the way

To Christians

How I got My Miracle

1st He was STANDING in the WAY of the Lord

2nd He was Situated in the Will of the Lord

John 9:2–3 (NKJV)

2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

The disciples are under this allusion

That because this man is suffering

His suffering is tied to sin

The disciples are under the allusion

That a persons WOES

Are because of their WRONGS

But don’t be so hard on the disciples

Because there are some people today

That’s under this allusion

Because there was an erroneous belief

That the sins of the parents

It could be passed down

To the children

Exodus 20:5

Suggest that the sins of the father

Could be passed down 4 generations

Meaning, that there was a belief

That when a parent sinned

That his child

Child Child

Child Child Child

Child Child Child Child

Could also have the same issue of the father

But Jesus clears up the matter

And says to his disciples

That this man WOES

Are not because of someone WRONGS

But his WOES

Is because of God’s WILL

This Brother is where he is

Not because he done something wrong

But it is the WILL of God

And God has a plan

For this man’s life

Somebody today

You have been misdiagnosing your WOES

Because you thought you done something WRONG

You start asking yourself questions like this

Why is this happening to me?

What have I done wrong?

What did I do to deserve this?

Am I paying for something that I’ve done?

But watch the text

Because the Lord is teaching you

Stop praying for the REMOVAL of your WOES

And ask God to REVEAL His WILL to your WOES

Note: God pick you out for you to become a Glory Story

Stop asking God why you

And start asking God

Why not you because you are a good candidate

For a glory story

Note: Jesus tells his disciples, this is not because of that……

Note: This mans WOES have given God a platform for God to WORK

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

How I got My Miracle

1st He was STANDING in the WAY of the Lord

2nd He was Situated in the Will of the Lord

3rd He was Sent to go Wash by the Lord

John 9:7 (NKJV)

7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

Jesus gives this man a strange assignment

Jesus forces this man

To participate in his own deliverance

Somebody needs to hear this

Because often times we are waiting on God

To turn things around

When in actuality you have a part to play

Contrary to popular belief

God

Helps those that help themselves

You do your part

And God will do what you can’t do

In fact most miracles in the Bible

Required participation

Moses stretch out your rod

Joshua walk around the wall seven times

Jesus turn water into wine but you gotta fill up the water pots

Jesus told the man at the pool I can hear you but you gotta get in the pool

I can raise Lazarus from the dead but you got a rule away the stone

Jesus tell this man to go wash in the pool of Salome

This was a tough assignment for three reasons

1st He had to walk away from Jesus with NO PROOF

This man had no proof

2nd He had to walk away with NO PROMISES

Go wash with no promises

Note: It’s not how you leave but how you come back

Note: There’s some people hoping you don’t come back

3rd He had to walk away with NO POWER
